At the company’s founding was a simple question: Why does bone care typically begin after damage is already underway?
Bone density doesn’t suddenly drop because of osteoporosis. It erodes gradually, often accelerating in midlife, especially for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. Yet early screening and intervention remain the exception, not the norm.

As the team looked more closely at what drives bone loss, one connection stood out: the gut–bone axis.
Bone health is shaped by bone remodeling: the ongoing balance between building new bone and breaking down old bone. When that balance shifts toward breakdown, bone density gradually declines. This process is strongly influenced by inflammation and immune signaling, not just by how much calcium or vitamin D you consume.
During menopause, estrogen loss alters immune signaling in ways that can accelerate bone breakdown. Inflammation becomes a key driver of this shift. Studies have shown that higher inflammatory activity is linked to increased bone resorption, while approaches that reduce inflammation can help slow it. This helps explain why bone loss often accelerates during midlife, even before it shows up clearly on a scan.
The gut microbiome plays an important role in regulating inflammation and immune signaling throughout the body. When gut barrier function is compromised or microbial balance shifts, inflammatory signals can increase—affecting bone remodeling downstream. Certain probiotic microbes may help support this balance by improving gut barrier function and producing compounds that help regulate inflammation.

Sōlaria Biō launched Bōndia with gold-standard clinical data.
Bōndia was evaluated in a 12-month, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study of 286 early postmenopausal women. The results showed that it improved bone loss by 85% in the femoral neck for women with osteopenia.
In this clinical study, Bōndia was safe and well-tolerated, with no differences in adverse events between product and placebo groups. Participants also reported 80% fewer severe gastrointestinal symptoms versus placebo.
